Minnesota

Minnesota's cold weather felt like home this weekend as I was reminded of my missionary experience where I spent most of my mission freezing cold in wool skirts and snow boots. I was sent here on a work assignment which left my days full and my evenings exhausting. Although quite familiar with my surroundings when I lived here 5 years ago, I couldn't believe how lost I felt coming back. The life of a missionary is much different than one of a passer-by. A few highlights of my trip:

Mary and Josh live here now with their cute little Stella. They live fairly close to my downtown hotel, so I was lucky enough to see Miss Mary quite a bit.

Stella LOVES purses and shoes. As soon as she saw these purses she knew just what to do.

Beautiful colors!

Mary came to the "after party" with me and we ran into our friend Kiley

And last but not least I was able to reconnect with my favorite familia Montecillo :) I feel so happy to know them. After spending time with them Mary and I left thinking "life really isn't as complicated as we sometimes make it out to be"

  1. How fun to see everyone in Minnesota! Mary looks great and her daughter looks so much like her. It's cool to see how grownup Gael is, too.

  2. I LOVE it! Mary and family look so beautiful and so fun that you saw Kiley. She looks gorgeous too. I'm so happy you saw the Montecillos and that it made you realize how we complicate things. I feel that way all the time too...I'll look at other Samoans and think, "Maybe they have it right and I'm making this a little too hard."
