No doubt about it, we had a fantastic Easter Sunday. While still waking up, Jason leaned close to my ear. "i have something to tell you" he said. Although I knew I shouldn't be nervous, I felt a little anxiety wondering what in the world he would need to tell me at 7:30a.m. "The easter bunny visited last night." Ah, it all makes sense. So the day started with a lovely little hunt. And somehow the easter bunny knew my favorite filling would be sour glow gummy worms.
While I'm sure it's commonplace for all of you to wake up at 7:30am on a Sunday morning, that is not so much the case around here. I was trying to make homemade rolls before church. This has been something that has been tried and failed MANY times before. Rolls, pie crust, sewing...all things that I never quite got the hang of. I gave up on pie crust as soon as I realized the frozen variety that is good and flaky enough for me. Not to mention I don't really like pie crust all that well anyway. I am not as quick to give up on rolls though. There really is nothing better than homemade, fresh yeast rolls. So, I tried again. And they *kind of* worked. I was so nervous they weren't going to raise that I made jason go peek under the towel and break the news to me gently. Luckily, they did. They weren't perfect as 1/2 of the rolls ended up being doughy inside, but hey, I'm getting there.
After the triumph of the rolls, we went to church and had a very enjoyable experience remembering and honoring the sacrifice and resurrection of our Savior.
These are some itty bitty cinnamon rolls I saw online and just thought were the cutest little things
After dinner the girls sang Easter songs around the piano while the boys cleaned up. Wow, what nice boys.
And then it was time for chatting and laughing and a little bit of modeling
