The Hills are Alive

We woke up yesterday and decided to go to the train station and see where we could get a cheap train ticket. Salzburg won with a round trip fare of 30 Euro for both of us. Not too shabby for a day's adventure in Austria. Getting off the train station in Austria, we were unsurprisingly disoriented. After picking up a map of the city, we found ourselves on the 30 minute walk to the city center which was exactly where we wanted to be. Shopping, eating, and Christmas markets all within a 1/2 mile radius. We spent the afternoon/evening there before making our way back to catch our double decker train to Munich.

We had these lanterns at our wedding. They cost us $2.50 at IKEA. Here they are selling for 11.50 Euro. Hmmm, I'm sensing a markup...

We found this store that sells decorated eggs...hundreds and hundreds of decorated eggs, for every holiday.

Salzburg was soooooo beautiful. Check out the backdrop.

Home of the Sound of Music. Jason took this picture especially for his dad.

Here are a few shots of the Christmas Market in Salzburg. We LOVED the Christmas market here. It was wonderful. Choirs singing on the steps of the church, violins playing Christmas carols to the passer-bys, and the hustle and bustle of crowds from around the globe. It was wonderful!
