Dear Gracie,  A few years ago when Amy and I first became friends, we decided we would go on a hike one time every week after work.  We thought this would be a good way to get to know Austin, get to know each other, and to be outside regularly.  Amy had a cool book with all sorts of recommended hikes around Austin.  The first hike we went on took us around a random bird watching reserve that happened to be next to a water treatment facility which smelled horribly (like sewage).  It was disgusting.  We walked with sweatshirts over our faces.  It has been an inside joke between us for years.  On Amy's first day back to Austin, we thought it would be fun to return to that awful hike for old time's sake.  We took you with us.  I really love taking you outside.
